La levadura que voy a usar es una S04 de Fermentis. Sobre este estilo: Es una cerveza refrescante y muy fácil de tomar con notas frutales. Una cerveza inclinada a la maltocidad, con un muy suave amargor. De color dorado claro y espuma blanca presenta un cuerpo medio a ligero e idealmente un ligeramente sobre gasificada. I'm not usually a fan of fruit in beer but I had a can of apricot puree that I didn't use for a previous batch and I thought it would go well in a Blonde Ale. The beer ended up being just okay because of a brew day and planning mistake I made. I accidentally selected a Pale Ale water profile and ended up adding too much gypsum for this style. It left the beer tasting a little minerally. I have no doubt that with the right water additions this beer would be much better. Even with the wrong water additions this beer turned out decent with a nice and light apricot aroma and flavor and a lovely malt backbone. I do wish it had a bit more hop character but that is something you can adjust if you decide to brew this yourself. Cheers!! This is a partial-mash brew, using the Coopers Australian Pale Ale beer kit as the base. Instead of using malt extract to make up most the extra fermentables required for this kit, I mashed some grain and created a wort. The extract recipe is below, but I used nearly 2kg of malt and mashed it using BIAB method and added a small amount of dextrose to bump up the ABV a little. A small amount of hops was also added during the boiling of the wort. Recipe for 23l batch: 1 x Coopers Australian Pale Ale Beer Kit 1.5 kg Pale Ale Malt 200g Carapils 250g Wheat Malt 20g Motueka Hop Pellets 🤍 last 5 mins of boil 150g Dextrose 1 x Crossmyloof Midland Yeast Fermented at 20oC for 14 days (+ cold crashed for 48 hours). These Brew Dudes brew up a recipe from one of our viewers - Sean from Manitoba! He sent us Cascade hops from his home country and we brewed a SMaSH with them. He sent us a recipe that is one of his house beers so we brewed that too! Bombastic Blonde Ale 77.8% US 2 Row 22.2% Golden Promise 14g (0.5oz) Cascade - First Wort 28g (1 oz) Cascade - 10 min 28g (1 oz) Cascade - 0 min Whirfloc and Yeast Nutrient at 10 mins Mash at 66.7C (152F). Oxygenate with pure O2 (or just shake the fermenter like it owes you money) Ferment for 3 weeks, transfer to keg and lager for another 3 weeks. Sample, if not clear, then I use gelatin to get a pristine clarity. The twist that we gave this beer was using Cosmic Punch as the yeast. The combination of the hops and the yeast made for a fruity (reminiscent of Juicy Fruit gum) beer, balanced nicely with the malts. Brewing and tasting an American Blonde Ale that Mike fermented with Fermentis K97 yeast. Mike wanted to get a light but decidedly American Blonde Ale ready for summer sipping. He focused on a light highly fermentable grain bill coupled with an extended low temperature mash. To give the beer some summer appeal he used Loral Hops to capture a unique fruit like quality but maintain some earthy/woody notes as well. A semi-unique aspect to this brew was the use of Fermentis K97 yeast. This is a German Ale yeast that seems to primarily be a Kölsch style yeast despite some people that seem to use it as a German wheat beer yeast. I guess that's OK if you want a super clean wheat beer as we didn't detect any of the traditional German wheat beer characteristics you'd expect from other yeast strains. This beer is crisp and light and ready for summer. Recipe below. CHEERS! The recipe: 92% Rahr 2-row malt 4% Vienna malt 4% White Wheat malt Mash at 65C/149F for 60 minutes Mash out at 75C/168F 60 minute boil 24g Pacific Gem hops (12% AA) First Wort Hop 28g Citra hops at flameout Aerate wort and pitch yeast. Ferment at 67F, ramping to 72F by end of fermentation, ensuring max attenuation.
