Flashforge Creator 3 In-Depth Review: Professional Dual-Extruder FDM 3D Printer 🤍 Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video, we will tell you about the Flashforge Creator 3 FDM 3D printer. Despite the fact that this printer is called Creator 3, it has nothing to do with the Creator Pro and Creator 2 models, being fundamentally different from them both in size, design, and capabilities. The printer is equipped with an array of useful features: two independent extruders, filament runout sensor, semi-automatic bed leveling, touch screen, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, print area lighting, webcam, extruder cleaning system, and others. But first things first. The outer dimensions of the Creator 3 are 627 x 485 x 615 millimeters. The exterior of the device is lined with gray and black plastic, with a touch-screen and a USB port located on the top of the front panel. There are transparent plastic doors on the front and top sides of the device — when printing with materials prone to shrinkage, such as ABS or nylon, the closed doors retain heat in the chamber. In the case with PLA, the doors can be opened to dissipate the heat and provide consistent part cooling during the print process. The side covers reveal filament storage compartments. Most spools fit well, but some wider ones and those with narrow holes in the center may be hard to accommodate. But you can always make or even print some kind of external spool holder. The back panel houses a power cord connector, on/off button, an Ethernet RJ-45 port, and two exhaust fans with HEPA filters. Overall, the machine is tough and heavy, weighing up to 40 kilograms. Looking inside, the frame is made of thick steel, the whole structure is very rigid. Most of the moving mechanisms are made of aluminum, with a few casted plastic parts. There are no 3D printed elements in the machine. The axes move on 12 mm rods and high-quality linear bearings, with no play or jamming during the motion. They are homed without the use of limit switches — just by the stepper motor drivers. The main feature of the Creator 3 is the dual independent direct extruder system. Two extruders can move independently of each other along the X-axis. This opens up such interesting possibilities as printing two identical parts at the same time in Duplicate mode, or printing one model and its mirrored copy in Mirror mode. The extruders are equipped with all-metal hotends and steel nozzles. They can easily heat up to 300 degrees Celsius, allowing to process a wide range of plastics. The Creator 3 uses proprietary nozzles comprising a nozzle tip set on a long metal tube. Special metal brush wipers are installed on the right and left sides of the bed to clean the nozzles during printing, with compartments to collect the discarded plastic. The kinematics of the Creator 3 is similar to MakerBot, but of course it has some differences due to the independent extruders set-up. The print area is quite large at 300 x 250 x 200 millimeters. The hotbed has a removable and slightly flexible cover, making it easy to remove large models from the platform. It is fixed on the bed with several retractable fasteners. The cover surface has a BuildTak coating, providing good adhesion, although in our experience we still had to resort to the use of additional adhesives, such as a glue stick. The bed can heat up to 120 degrees. Calibration is carried out in semi-automatic mode with touch detection done by piezo sensors built into the extruders. The printer takes measurements at three points with the screen displaying how to adjust the leveling screws. After the bed leveling, it is necessary to calibrate the extruders relative to each other. Along the Z axis, this happens automatically. Along the X and Y axes, the machine prints longitudinal and transverse lines, and if they do not meet in one line, it is necessary to adjust the space between the extruders. A full calibration procedure takes about 10 minutes. The printer's control board is based on a 32-bit processor, while the motherboard is equipped with modern, quiet and quality TMC5130A-TA stepper motor drivers. The proprietary FlashPrint slicer is used to prepare models for printing. It has all the necessary settings controls. In addition to the basic tools like moving, rotating, centering and resizing, there is a very useful function for cutting models into parts with auto fill of the cut geometry. Also, if you load a 3D model with errors into the slicer, FlashPrint will register this and offer automatic correction. The Set Extruder menu allows you to choose which extruder will be used for printing the selected model, including duplication or mirror modes. Supports can be placed both automatically, with specified settings, and manually. There are classic linear supports as well as tree-like structures.
In this video we are going to be taking a look at the Flashforge Foto 8.9 4K and my experience with this machine as my first resin printer. I'll show you how to set up the printer and how to get started slicing your first files in both the FlashDLPrint software and ChituBox. We will also look at the post processing details of resin printing and the lessons learned as I spent more time with this 3d printer. We will be taking a look at my first prints on this amazing 4K LCD resin printer and go through some of the issues I had while learning about the resin printing process, its limitations, and how I went about troubleshooting some common problems with various resins I printed with. We will also take a look at some of the models I printed and how they turned out based on my expectations of the printer. Some general tips I found to be helpful in finding the correct exposure time for new resin was as follows... ► Loss of detail, small features becoming oversized, supports too difficult to remove, then perhaps the exposure time is too long. ► Models not fully cured, models warping and breaking away from the supports in the middle of a print, models staying stuck to the FEP, loss of detail in small features not showing up at all, then perhaps the exposure time is too short. All of the models printed in this video were at the 0.1mm layer height. The layer exposure time I found that worked well on the Flashforge Foto 8.9 4K at 0.1mm layer resolution was as follows for each of the tested resins: ► eSun PLA Pro (Black) Resin: 4.7s ► eSun Water Washable Resin (all colors): 6s ► eSun Bio (PLA) Resin (Yellow): 5.2s ► Monocure Rapid (red) Resin: 5.2s ► eSun Hard Tough Resin (white): 6.2s If you are experiencing z-banding or other z artifacts, you might want to check for thick cross sections in your print. You might be able to re-orient your model to fix this, or maybe you have to hollow it out or even redesign it altogether! Keep in mind that the viscosity of your resin will also contribute to the suction forces. I found that one of the models I was printing would print fine in the thinner viscosity water washable resin, but I had to redesign the part to get it to work with the Monocure Rapid resin as it seemed much thicker. Please watch the video in its entirety to see all of the details I discuss regarding my experience with this LCD printer. Overall I thought it was a great 3D printer. The accuracy and details and it can produce is astounding and the part tolerances are incredible in all directions. The build volume is very generous and should make for a great platform for beginners and advanced users alike. My complaints were not being able to see through the black lid, not having a pouring spout on the vat, and support in Lychee slicer would be a big bonus if they can make a profile. This guide applies to the FF Finder, Guider II/IIS, and Inventor II/IIS series. Please note that if your servo is going "too far" when deployed, it may appear that it is straight up and down, but it is bouncing against the housing and returning to 90 degrees (or near it). You will hear a little straining noise from the hobby servo up inside of the printer's extruder housing. This means you still should adjust the higher value down. Over the tens, hundreds, or thousands of hours your 3D printer will endure - there are certain things that need to be done to keep it in great working order. One of those things is ensuring that your leveling switch is calibrated properly. This means that when "down" or deployed, it will be perfectly perpendicular to the build plate. And when "Up" or recessed/retracted, it'll be up out of harms way. Having both of these points set properly means for longer printer life and fewer frustrations.

Flashforge Creator 4 Overview: High-Performance Commercial 3D Printer 🤍 🤍 Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video, we will tell you about the Flashforge Creator 4 professional dual-extruder FDM printer. Boasting a fully enclosed build chamber of 400 x 350 x 500 mm, the Creator 4 features a heated print bed capable of reaching up to 130 degrees Celsius. The integrated active chamber heating system ensures a constant temperature of up to 65 degrees within the working area. The machine has an internal compartment to accommodate two spools of filament. The Creator 4 is equipped with an IDEX system, meaning that users can benefit from two independent extruders. This solution is perfect for two-material printing, and to speed up small-scale production by enabling printing in duplication and mirror modes. The 3D printer comes in one of two basic modifications — S and A. Three types of extruders are available for installation on the Creator 4, each dedicated to a specific material such as flexible, engineering-grade plastics, and carbon-fiber-filled composites. Each of the three extruders has its own print speed and temperature range. The Creator 4 is ready to work with plastics with an up to 360 degrees melting temperature. Both the proprietary FlashPrint software and any other convenient slicing program, such as Cura or Slic3r, can be used to prepare 3D models for printing. You can send files to the machine via USB, Ethernet, or a wireless connection. The practical features of the Guider 3 Plus include the automatic bed leveling system, seven-inch touch screen, filament sensor, air purification system based on a HEPA 13 filter, and a video camera for online monitoring. The machine is able to resume printing after a power outage and automatically turns off when the print is finished. As an option, the printer can be equipped with a filament drying chamber. The Creator 4 is ideal for professional use in a variety of areas, including industrial design, tooling and fixtures production, architecture, and decoration. Check out Flashforge Finder 3 here: 🤍 A while ago, Flashforge sent me their new Finder 3. Now, after over 600 hours of printing time, I have a good picture of how the printer performs and how it stands against its predecessor, the Finder. With a heated bed and a larger build volume, the Finder 3 is a worthy replacement to the mighty fun-cube that is the original Finder and that has produced parts for my models for over 5000 hours by now! But I do have some suggestions to Flashforge... Benchy: 🤍
